Recently, we noticed again in our team that this question is currently on many people's minds around Christmas and New Year's Eve. What do you do when the dining table is too small for several guests?
In this article, we will show you how you can easily cross this problem off your list.
In everyday life, your own dining table fits perfectly. Breakfast for two. A cozy dinner with the family. Game nights with friends. For most situations, the space is completely sufficient.
But then come those special days when suddenly significantly more people are supposed to sit at the table. Birthday parties. Family visits. Christmas. Baptisms.
Buying a new, larger table for such rare moments hardly makes sense. Too large for everyday use, impractical for the apartment, expensive, and not sustainable. That's exactly what we thought, and we believe that our table extension provides exactly the support you really need in these situations.

01. Why a table extension is so sensible.
For special occasions without changing furniture.
A table extension using an additional board creates space exactly where it is needed. At the end of the table. You only increase the area when it is really necessary and keep your dining table as it is in everyday life.
Space-saving for small apartments.
Especially in rental apartments, the dining table is often carefully chosen. A permanently larger variant would quickly overcrowd the space. An extension board as a dining table extension is your flexible solution if you want to combine everyday usability and guest suitability.
With our extension boards, you can easily enlarge your table by up to 120 cm.
Here's how the calculation looks:
- 1 extension board = +60 cm extension
- 2 extension boards = +120 cm total length
This means: Space for up to 4 additional people.
Also practical outdoors.
Due to the rustproof coating, the extension is also suitable for outdoor tables in the garden or on the balcony. So it's great for garden parties and BBQs.
Desk extension: More workspace when you need it.
Not only at the dining table does flexibility count: A desk extension can also make a decisive difference at the workplace. Instead of directly investing in a larger table, you only expand your workspace when it makes sense. Stable, quick to assemble, and ideal for small Home-office corners. This way, you can easily switch between laptop setup, monitors, and creative projects with your flexible desk extension.
02. Here's how to easily attach the table extension.
You need neither special tools nor much time. The construction is simple and can be done well even by those inexperienced in DIY.
1. Find the right spot.
The table should have a smooth underside. Since the brackets are attached directly underneath, models without drawers or substructures are best suited. If your dining table has edge strips, make sure they are recessed so that the connecting arms run smoothly in the guide. Mark the appropriate spot where you will attach the brackets in the next step.
Important: Make sure to leave enough margin from the table edge (at least 2 centimeters from the edge). Mark the required holes and determine the drilling depth. Then mark the depth on your drill so you don't accidentally drill through the tabletop.

2. Screw on the brackets.
Now drill the six holes per bracket at the previously marked spots and screw everything tight. A cordless screwdriver is sufficient. Make sure that both brackets are parallel so that the connecting arms can later be inserted cleanly.

3. Attach the connecting arms to the extension plate.
In this step, you insert the connecting arms into the previously attached bracket and secure them with the supplied screws. Now you can mark, pre-drill, and screw tight the four holes on each side for the connecting arms.
Make sure that both extensions are parallel to each other and that the plate is flush with your table. Your extension plate can be up to 60 centimeters long, keeping you flexible.
Tip: If you make your extension plate yourself, ensure it is a stable wooden board with cleanly sanded edges.

4. Insert the plate.
Once everything is in place, you slide the extension plate into the brackets. Thanks to the simple plug-in system, no additional fixation is needed. The plate is stable and immediately increases your table surface.

03. Conclusion.
A table top connector is, as you can see, quite simple but super effective. Your dining table can be used on all other days of the year just as you really need it in everyday life. The attached holder for your table extension remains inconspicuous under the table and the extension board simply disappears along with the connecting rails in the storage room, under the bed, or behind the sofa until the next party comes up.
